TIP is committed to sharing resources as a part of scaling innovation in North Carolina. Here are some of the resources available from TIP.

Virtual Academy Collaborative Materials

TIP has released e-course supplemental materials in Math I, Math II, Math III, English I/II, and Biology as part of TIP’s Virtual Academy Collaborative (VAC). Course packages have been curated over the past three years by subject-area teachers from TIP member districts, with logistical support from the William and Ida Friday Institute for Educational Innovation at N.C. State University.

Weather Related Learning Disruptions

The Innovation Project implemented research in order to learn about storm impact in TIP districts that were declared disaster areas.  Dr. Mike Ward, former State Superintendent of Public Instruction, and Dr. Meghan Doyle, Superintendent, Craven County Schools appeared on an episode of Public School Forum of North Carolina’s Education Matters to discuss NC schools preparedness for the next hurricane.

TIP NCSU Teaching Scholars

To address North Carolina’s pronounced teacher shortage, TIP worked with North Carolina State University’s College of Education to establish a new scholarship program for future teachers, especially in STEM and Special Education. Recipients agreed to teach in specified rural or semi-rural TIP districts for two years following graduation, in exchange for receiving a $10,000 over the first two years of employment.
