Member Districts

The Innovation Project’s member districts represent a diverse cross section of 21 public school systems from across North Carolina, serving 40% of the state’s public school students. Members range from the smallest to the largest districts, both urban and rural, representing districts varied in geography, location, and socioeconomic status. All members remain committed to the common goal of unleashing student potential and shaping the future of learning through innovation and collaboration. 

Our Strength Is In Our Membership

The Innovation Project is uniquely designed for superintendents who have a strong track record of innovation.  Our membership includes a cross section of public school districts across North Carolina serving 42% of the public school students in the 9th largest state in the country.  Membership in this innovative league of districts is by invitation.  Members are diverse in their geography, size, and demographics, and share a common drive to implement innovative solutions to shape the future of learning and unleash student potential.
