Dr. Chris Lowder

Dr. Chris Lowder served as superintendent of Cabarrus County Schools for six years.  As a public-school educator, he was a high school English teacher, a high school assistant principal, a high school principal, director of high schools, executive director of school operations, and assistant/deputy superintendent of administrative services.

Dr. Lowder received his Bachelor of Arts Degree from UNC Chapel Hill, a Master’s Degree in English and a Master’s Degree in School Administration from UNC Charlotte and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from UNC Charlotte.  He was named the Southwest Regional Superintendent of the year in 2019 and served on the Executive Board of the North Carolina Superintendent Association from 2018-2021.  Dr. Lowder has published an article in The High School Journal and has presented at numerous conferences.

Dr. Lowder and his wife Stephanie are the parents of two daughters.  Hayley is a graduate student at UNC Charlotte and Maggie is a junior at West Cabarrus High School.
