Burroughs Wellcome Fund Pathways Scholars, Pathway to Practice – TIP Cohort

TIP is the first recipient of a new initiative of “BWF Pathway Scholars.” TIP teachers who qualify can clear their emergency or residency license through the NCSU/UNC online, competency-based program, Pathway to Practice, in order to teach in math or science. The Scholars program covers the full cost of tuition (about $5,000 per teacher), edTPA completion ($300), and additional coaching and support for teachers.  There are no costs to the district for participation.

For this inaugural cohort, TIP is first seeking participation from its members in the north/eastern part of the state (Granville, Vance, Warren, Edgecombe, and Craven).  However, please let us know if you are interested as there may be additional slots available. The application deadline is May 15th. The cohort of Scholars will begin orientation and work on their modules after June 15, 2020. Please share this opportunity with your current and any newly hired teachers.
