TIP Early Learning Network Cohort III (2020-21), Webinar and application period begins Monday, April 15

TIP is engaged in an innovative approach to redesigning schooling and learning through its Early Learning Network (ELN). TIP supports a Network of principals and school design teams from 15-20 schools per year in partnership with the Friday Institute and with generous funding from the W.K. Kellogg Foundation (totaling approximately $17,500 per school).

The three core elements of the ELN are an intensive school design process; coaching for entrepreneurial school leadership; and innovative district supports. In the most recent meetings of this year’s cohort, principals and school design teams focused on social-emotional learning (SEL) and the roles it plays in their schools; made connections between SEL and equity; and examined the progress teams have made on their design thinking prototypes.

Each year, participants also attend a Learning Visit to see leading national exemplars of transformation in early learning in action. Last year’s cohort visited two districts located outside of Denver, Colorado. This year’s Learning Visit has been postponed to the fall, when we will visit the Roger Milliken Center and Spartanburg School District 7 in South Carolina. Milliken is a global leader of innovation in business, and Spartanburg 7 has been a pioneer in advancing transformative approaches to early learning.

For those interested in learning more about the ELN and possibly applying to be a part of Cohort III in 2020-21, TIP will host an Overview Webinar on Monday, April 15, from 9:30-10:15 a.m. Register for the webinar via the link below. The webinar will be recorded, and the Cohort III application will be released immediately following the webinar. Priority will be given in Cohort III to Restart Schools and other low-performing schools. Please contact Joe at jableidinger@tipnc.org if you have questions about the ELN or potential participation in 2020-21.
