Learning – Inspiration Trips

Granville Academy, Tuesday, April 21, 9:15-1:00

TIP Members are invited to tour Granville Academy on Tuesday, April 21, 2020, 9:15-1:00. Lunch will be provided as part of the visit for all registered participants. Granville Academy was developed to meet the needs of children who had been in homeschools. It also offers a vision of a flexible learning environment that could be a model for public schools. Granville Academy provides a blended learning environment for students in grades K-8 and a flexible high school for grades 9-12. Students in grades K-8 attend physical school buildings two days a week for approximately five hours each day. High school students have flexibility in their work space based on progress. Please register at the link below by Tuesday, April 14, or contact Joe Ableidinger with any questions about the Learning Visit at jableidinger@tipnc.org.

We also are exploring several other learning trip opportunities:  National Paideia Model School, Meadowfield Elementary School in Columbia, South Carolina, which has been highly successful in providing equitable opportunities; Modern Teacher showcase in Vance County Schools, to highlight the work in TIP districts and to explore potential group pricing; Ed Farm, Birmingham, Alabama – a unique collaborative model between K-12, higher ed, and businesses for entrepreneurism and innovation. Slides for Ed Farm are included in the TIP Resources.  We will be gauging your interest in these opportunities.
